Pumpkin Donut Holes that look and taste like pumpkins!

August 31, 2017 This post may contain affiliate links.

These sweet little Pumpkin Donut Holes look and taste like pumpkins. Each crispy pumpkin spice doughnut is coated in a yummy pumpkin spice glaze and is decorated with a candy stem.

Pumpkin Donut Holes

I had so much fun making these Pumpkin Donut Holes but I have to admit I liked eating them even more. They taste amazing.

The exterior of the bite size doughnut is crispy and has a caramelized sugar flavor while the interior in soft and moist and full of pumpkin spice flavor. Then the entire thing is coated in a yummy pumpkin spice glaze.

Sigh. I am so sad all these donuts are gone now because as I’m writing this my mouth is watering, wanting more.

How to make pumpkin doughnut holes for Halloween or Fall.

When making these fall desserts I decided to make them look like pumpkins. You know I just had to make them look cute.

I will admit that it does take a bit of time to add all the grooves down the sides of each pumpkin and to shape and attach the candy clay stems. I realize not everyone will want to go through that much effort, but seriously if you love pumpkin spiced doughnuts you have to make these even if you don’t decorate them. You will thank me after taking your first bite.

They are fantastic plain, taste great coated in cinnamon sugar, and are sweetly sublime coated in the glaze.

Wouldn’t they make a fun breakfast or dessert to serve to your family on Halloween or Thanksgiving?

Gotta try them? Head over to Dixie Crystals for the recipe.

The great thing about these little pumpkin doughnut holes is that the final steps of the recipe are so kid-friendly; glazing the doughnut holes, and fashioning and adhering the stems are all tasks easily done by children. Any inconsistencies just makes the mini pumpkins look more authentic. The transformation into the appearance of pumpkins at at this stage is fairly dramatic! Satisfaction guaranteed. I am looking forward to making these with children. Thank you for creating and sharing.

I couldn’t agree more. Kids will have so much fun helping in the kitchen to make these donut holes.
