    FAQ

How do I print your recipes?

Most of the posts have recipe cards near the bottom of the page. I share step-by-step instructions above each recipe. Those recipe cards have print buttons. Just click the print button to print out the recipe.

I started blogging back in 2010 on a platform that did not use recipe cards. I have been working to get them all updated but had almost 800 recipes that needed to be fixed. It's taking time. If you find a recipe without a recipe card, you will have to copy and paste the recipe portion of the blog post into a word document and print it from there. I apologize for this!

Can I make substitutions in your recipes?

If I include substitution suggestions within the recipe post, then yes. Otherwise, I cannot guarantee success with a recipe if you swap out ingredients because the recipe has not been tested using that ingredient swap. If you are decorating a treat or appetizer, then yes, you can be creative and use any ingredient that will work to decorate the recipe.

Why isn't my question/comment showing up?

When you leave a comment on a recipe post, I will be alerted. I moderate all of the comments before they are posted. I try to respond to the posts as quickly as possible but there are times it may take a day or so.

If you have an urgent question while making a recipe, you might want to reach out to me via email at beth@hungryhappenings.com as I may be able to get back to you more quickly.

Rude, spammy, or derogatory comments will be deleted. Also, any hyperlinks left in comments will be automatically removed.

Can I get alerts when you publish new recipes?

You can subscribe to the Hungry Happenings newsletter to receive updates whenever I publish new recipes. I send out newsletters a few times per month and more often during holidays.

Why didn't a recipe work for me?

Unfortunately, I cannot be in your kitchen while you are making one of my recipes so I cannot know exactly why a recipe did not turn out for you.

If you reach out to me via comments or email, I will do my best to help you determine what went wrong and how to fix it the next time.

Also, ingredients can vary from one manufacturer to another. If I recommend a particular brand of product, be sure to use that if you are able.

Before reaching out regarding a problem you are having with a recipe, go through the checklist below before leaving a bad review on a recipe:

    - Did you re-read the ingredients and instructions, making sure you followed everything accurately?
    - Did you make any substitutions that were not recommended in the recipe post?
    - Did you use the proper equipment?
    - Did you check the temperature inside your oven using an oven thermometer? Oven temps inside the oven may not match the temperature you set.

Do I have your permission to use your images?

All of the recipe images here on Hungry Happenings were taken by Beth and are protected by copyright. If you would like to share an image on your website, in a blog roundup, or on a social media channel, be sure to read my photo use policy here.

    Do you accept guest posts?

I have in the past had other fun food bloggers share guest posts on my blog. I am open to sharing recipes created by fun food bloggers but will not accept guest posts from any other author. Nor, will I ever share a paid-for link on this website.

Do you work with brands on sponsored posts?

Yes. I love the challenge of coming up with new uses for a brand's product and creating unique recipes. If you have a product that you'd like to promote on Hungry Happenings, reach out at beth@hungryhappenings.com.

To my readers, I will always let you know that a post has been sponsored. I will only create sponsored posts using products that I like and would use myself.
