Bring some smiles to the table when you serve Deviled Egg Emoji. These fun appetizers are great for Easter, picnics, or potlucks and are easy to make using black olives and sweet red bell peppers.

I've obviously been bitten by the emoji bug because I can't stop using the cute smiley faces to make food crafts. You might recall the Caramel Chocolate Poop Emoji or the bright yellow Emoji Fudge recipes I shared this Valentine's Day. For some reason I can't stop thinking of ways to create more emoji out of food.

Last week when a friend of mine offered me some deviled eggs while at a luncheon, inspiration struck. The bright yellow filling in the middle of the egg was the perfect shape for an emoji and as my brain often does, I could visualize the deviled egg smiling up at me.

Yeah, I'm a little crazy. I know it! I couldn't wait to get into the kitchen to make some deviled egg emoji.

Bring some smiles to the table when you serve Deviled Egg Emoji. These fun appetizers are great for Easter, picnics, or potlucks and are easy to make using black olives and sweet red bell peppers.

To make these yourself you will need to make some deviled eggs using your favorite recipe. You can see how I like to make mine by visiting my Deviled Egg Bunny Feet blog post.

Then you'll need some black olives, red peppers, and an egg white or two from your hard boiled eggs to make the decorations.

You can find the tools needed to decorate your Emoji Eggs from Amazon (commission earned for sales).

    •  small and medium round plunger cutters or a small and large straw
    • small heart plunger cutter
    • sharp paring knife
    • optional, carrying case for your deviled eggs so you can bring them to a party

Watch the video to see how to create the decorations to add to your eggs.

To make each egg cut very thin slices off the black olives and from the hard boiled egg white then:

    Tongue Emoji

    • Cut a slice of egg white using a medium round plunger for the white of one eye.
    • Cut a slice of black olive using small round plunger cutter for the pupil.
    • Cut a winking eye using a medium round plunger cutter. Cut a circle then use the round cutter to cut the circle into a crescent shape.
    • Cut a large roundish slice of black olive into a smile.

    Heart Eyes Emoji

    • Cut two heart eyes from a slice of sweet red pepper using a small heart plunger cutter.
    • Slice a circle off a black olive using a knife then cut it into a smile.

    Wide Eyed Emoji

    • Cut egg whites using medium round plunger cutter to create the whites of the eyes.
    • Cut 2 black olive eyes and one open mouth using small round plunger cutter.
    • Cut the eye brows using medium round plunger cutter. Cut a circle then use the round cutter to cut the circle into a thin crescent shape.

    Smiley Face Emoji

    • Cut 2 black olive eyes using small round plunger cutter.
    • Slice a circle off a black olive using a knife then cut it into a smile.

Festive Easter appetizers can dress up your holiday dinner. Choose from whimsical deviled eggs, fun veggie pizzas, stuffed crescent roll carrots and more. See all the recipes at HungryHappenings.com.

Whenever I make deviled eggs, everyone loves them and now with the emoji face, they would disappear even faster!
