    Peeps Breakfast Pizza

Peeps for Breakfast? I've enjoyed many Peeps for breakfast, but none quite as satisfying as this egg, ham, and cheese-topped Peeps Breakfast Pizza.

    Easter Peeps breakfast pizza

How fun is this Easter breakfast pizza? It was a huge hit with my family.

I topped my Peeps pizza with scrambled eggs, ham, and cheese but any toppings would work well.

To get the pizza into a bunny shape, I used a Peeps baking pan. But you could just as easily cut out pizza dough in the shape of a Peeps bunny and add your toppings to the dough.

Peeps for Breakfast? Yes, please, especially when they are Egg, Ham and Cheese Breakfast Pizza Peeps. See the recipe at HungryHappenings.com

Being Peeps come in a variety of spring colors these pizzas can be topped with white cheese which allows the yellow eggs to show through or orange cheese or even pink-colored or purple-colored cheese.

It's really easy to color grated cheese. Simply pour the cheese into a zip-top bag, add a drop of liquid food coloring, and shake until all the cheese is colored, adding more coloring if needed.

Wouldn't it be fun to have a whole bunch of different colored Pizza Peeps on your table this Easter?

Want a fun dish to serve at Easter brunch? Make some cute Egg, Ham and Cheese Breakfast Pizza Peeps. See recipe at HungryHappenings.com

    Ingredients

    • pizza dough - Use store-bought dough or homemade pizza dough.
    • scrambled eggs
    • diced ham
    • grated white cheddar cheese
    • black olives

    Supplies

Peeps pan or a parchment paper-lined baking sheet

You can find supplies needed to create this recipe on Amazon. I earn a small commission when you use the sales links in this post to make a purchase at no extra cost to you.

    Instructions

Wilton Peeps Cookie Pan is perfect for making Breakfast Pizza Peeps

    Peeps Pan

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Wilton Peeps Cookie Pan is perfect for making Breakfast Pizza Peeps

    Cut the pizza dough.

Unroll the pizza dough and lay it over the Peeps pan. Cut the dough around the edge of the pan.

You could also lay the pizza dough out onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and cut out a bunny shape. See my Taco Tart Teddy Bear for a visual guide.

Peeps-shaped pizza curst topped with scrambled eggs and ham.

Bake the crust and top with eggs and ham.

Bake the bunny-shaped pizza dough for 8 minutes. This is just long enough to get it partially baked. It will bake through once you add the toppings.

Remove the pizza crust from the oven and top it with ham and scrambled eggs.

Return it to the oven and bake for an additional 6-8 minutes until heated through.

top the Peeps-shaped breakfast pizza with shredded cheese and black olive eyes and nose.

    Top with cheese and olives.

Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle the grated cheese over top. The cheese will melt over the hot pizza toppings. You could pop the oven back in the oven for a minute or two if your cheese does not melt.

Cut black olives into circles. I sliced the olives first and then cut out the circles using a round plunger cutter. They are perfectly round, which I like. You can just cut the ends off the olives to create the bunny's nose and eyes but the olives will have the cross-hatch slits in them.

Place the olive circles on your pizza to create two eyes and one nose.

    Serve immediately.

Use a Wilton Peeps Silicone mold to make simple Peeps Rolls for Easter.

    Use your extra pizza dough.

You will have scraps of pizza dough left after making one large Peeps breakfast pizza and you can simply bake the scraps of dough and enjoy a little snack or you can press pieces of the dough into a Peeps silicone mold. Bake them for about 10-12 minutes and you'll have some cute dinner rolls.

I would have shown you a picture of the finished Peeps dinner rolls but they were devoured by some hungry friends who were visiting.

    Variations

Make your Easter brunch egg-stra special by serving this adorable Breakfast Pizza Chick topped with ham, cheese, and scrambled eggs. See how easy it is to decorate using orange peppers and black olives.

You can make a Breakfast Pizza Chick to go along with your bunny. The cheese and toppings are hidden under the scrambled eggs on this pizza and it's decorated with orange peppers and black olives.

The breakfast pizza is such fun and different idea! Hey, I have an idea for April Fools Day ... tell the kids that you are serving Peeps for breakfast. First, they will think that Mom has lost her mind, but are sure to be happy when they see the breakfast pizza!

LOL! If I had kids they wouldn't be very surprised if I told them we were having Peeps for breakfast. At Easter I have to admit that Peeps might be the first bite of food that goes into my mouth in the morning:)

First thing I wondered was HOW do you make colored cheese. Next sentence told us how. Bet in Wilton's wildest dreams did they EVER expect anyone to make a pizza in their peep pan!!! You are definitely an outside the box person & that's wonderful. Keeps a smile on our faces every time you create something new. Peep pizza in different colors when making them for a party - different color - different type of meat. What a novel concept.

Now I'm wondering if the peep rolls can be dyed. Whoo-hoo

At the check out counter last night I spotted YOUR cheese chicks (photo at bottom of this post) on the cover of Celebration magazine. Congratulations!. They are so adorable. Your creations are so recognizable - the best of the best. I saved that photo from when you first posted them and look at them whenever I need a smile. Just think - you're a Cover Girl - Again.

Thanks for the peep pizza. Even people who don't like the sugary peeps can't help but love a peep pizza.

        Thanks, Tavette,

Coloring cheese is quite easy, and I think having a variety of these pizzas for Easter brunch or breakfast would be so much fun.

I had originally planned to brush the little Peeps dinner rolls with butter and sprinkle on colored cheese. They never made it to that point as they were eaten too quickly. I'll try it next time.

I'll have to go check out the Celebration Magazine, as I did not give any approval for my chicks to be on the cover. It wont be the first time someone has replicated my idea in a national media outlet without my approval. Oh, well, that's the life of a blogger, I guess.

        Happy Easter!

Beth, you have no idea how hard it is to find cute holiday food that isn't sweet! Well, perhaps you do, because you really deliver in that area! Designs like this one are exceptional and allow a fun "Kids' Table" to serve food that is cute, but NOT loaded with sugar! THANK YOU!

You are welcome! I do know how hard it is to find fun savory dishes for holidays so I try to do at least one for each holiday each year. This Easter, I've made several! It is more challenging, but I love the challenge:)
