Doesn't this little guy just melt your heart?

His cute eyes starring up at you just might keep you from wanting to snack on him, but he's made of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and candy and is so irresistible that I just know you will.

I made my first Reese's Cup Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer Treats back in 2012 and the step-by-step tutorial continues to be one of my most popular at Christmas each year so I wanted to revisit the idea and create a video tutorial for you this year.

    Rudolph-the-Red-Nose-Reindeer-Reeses-Cups-party-favors-Christmas-treats-for-kids-edible-crafts-for-kids-and-adults-

My original creation was made using 2 Miniature Reese's Cups, a Fruit Roll-Ups scarf, 2 candy eyes, an M&M nose, and Tootsie Roll antlers. I wanted the treats to be super easy to assemble so I used all easy-to-find store bought items.

When I made these treats I used Tootsie Rolls that were quite hard. I heard from a few readers that used really soft and fresh Tootsie Rolls and they had trouble with sagging antlers. Who wants that?

You can either make sure you use harder Tootsie Rolls or you can use one of the other two methods I came up with this year to decorate your Reese's Cup Rudolph Treats.

Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer has never looked sweeter. That's because he's made out of chocolate and candy. See how easy these Reese's Cup Rudolph Treats are to make in a video tutorial at HungryHappenings.com.

My favorite idea is to use Candy Clay to make Rudolph's antlers and scarf. Candy Clay is super easy to make using two ingredients, it tastes like chocolate, and it holds firm so your antlers will be nice and straight.

If you'd like to decorate your Reese's Cup Rudolph Treats using Candy Clay (modeling chocolate) you can find the recipe on my Chocolate Making Tips page. If you love working with Candy Clay be sure to check out my book, Candy Clay Creations. It's 102 pages filled with tips, tricks, and tutorials to help you decorate adorably cute treats using Candy Clay.

The ultimate guide to making and decorating with candy clay. This 118 page ebook is filled with tips, tricks, and tutorials.

The second is to use a Wilton Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer cupcake decorating kit. The kit has candy antlers, red candy noses, and candy eyes. The eyes were too big for these Reese's Cup Rudolph Treats but the antlers and nose worked great.

You can find the Wilton Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer decorating kit at craft stores or at Amazon.

Both methods of decorating your Reese's Cup Rudolph Treats will work out great. They both look equally cute and taste pretty good too

Check out the video to see how easy both versions are to make.

With either treat, you will need to attach your Reese's Cups together using melted chocolate. I suggest you use either melted and tempered milk chocolate or Light Cocoa Candy Melts. Either will work fine. You can find detailed information about choosing and melting chocolate on my Chocolate Making Tips page.

Store bought candy has never looked cuter. This Christmas make your family and friends smile by gifting them with some sweet Reese's Cup Rudolph Treats.

    Course: Dessert
    Cuisine: American
Keyword: resses cup dessert, rudolph dessert
    Servings: 12
    Author: Beth Klosterboer
    Ingredients
    • 24 Miniature Reese's Cups unwrapped
    • 2 ounces melted and tempered pure chocolate or melted Light Cocoa Candy Melts
    • 24 candy eyes (¼ inch or ⅜ inch)
    Method 1:
    • 24 candy antlers from Wilton's Rudolph kit
    • 12 candy noses from Wilton's Rudolph kit
    • 1 green or multi-colored Fruit Roll-Ups
    Method 2:
    • 2 ounces brown candy clay
    • 2 ounces green candy clay
    • 12 red M&M's candies
    Instructions
    1. Set one Reese's Cup on your work surface.
    2. Brush a dab of melted chocolate in the center on top of the Reese's Cup.
    3. Allow that to set up a bit then set another Reese's Cup on it's side down onto the melted chocolate.
    4. Hold the candy in place until the chocolate sets and the Reese's Cup stays upright.
    5. Attach 2 candy eyes to the top, back edge, of the upright Reese's Cup using dabs of chocolate as edible "glue."
    Method 1:
    1. Attach 1 red candy nose and 2 candy antlers to the upright Reese's Cup using chocolate.
    2. Cut ⅜ inch wide strips from the Fruit Roll-Ups sheet.
    3. Wrap a strip of Fruit Roll-Ups around the base of the upright Reese's Cup forming a scarf.
    Method 2:
    1. Roll out brown candy clay to about ⅛th of an inch thickness.
    2. Cut out 24 small leaves (or antlers) using a 1 - ½ inch cookie cutter.
    3. If using a leaf cutter you may need to cut off a bit to get an antler shape.
    4. Attach two antlers to the back side of each upright Reese's Cup.
    5. Roll out the green candy clay to about 1/16th of an inch thickness.
    6. Cut twelve ⅜th inch wide by 6 or 7 inch long strips.
    7. Wrap one strip around the base of each upright Reese's Cup forming a scarf.
    8. Cut off the ends of the strip so you can a nice length of scarf on each Rudolph.

Thanks Caroline, I was not going to make my Rudolphs' this year because my antlers sag once the room gets warm. I have ordered my Wilton Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer decorating kit - can't wait for it to arrive. Have you ever done the Reese Peanut butter cup Christmas trees?

Thanks, Caroline. These little treats are so fun to make and even more fun to share. I put them out this weekend at our family dinner and they were adored before they were gobbled up!
