Ice Cream Cone Minions
How cool are these Minion Ice Cream Cones?
I mean, really?
Not only are they insanely cute, but they taste like Banana Laffy Taffy. Yum!I laughed until my stomach hurt the first time I saw the Minions fighting over a banana, so I just had to use banana ice cream for my Minions.
Of course, I realize some of you would never fight over a banana. So, for those of you with an aversion to bananas, you can make your ice cream any flavor you’d like. Perhaps you’d prefer lemon, mango, or even just plain vanilla. You can even divide up your batch of ice cream and make several different flavors if you have a family who can’t agree on just one.
Just be sure your ice cream is colored yellow unless you want to get crazy and make some purple minions.
The ice cream will take less than 5 minutes to make, then once it’s in the freezer you can make all the decorations.I’m not going to lie, making these modeling chocolate decorations for the Minion Ice Cream Cones was time consuming. They look so cool this way, but I’ve created an easier alternative too.
The decorations on the minion ice cream cone above are made out of vanilla and chocolate taffy rolls. They don’t look quite as realistic, but will sure save some time.I’ll show you how to make both in the tutorial below.
Banana Ice Cream Cone Minions
No Churn Banana Ice Cream-
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 Dram Lorann-Banana Cream Flavor
yellow food coloring
1 (14 ounce) can Sweetened Condensed Milk
5 blue ice cream cones (Joy, Color Cone Cups
4 ounces white modeling chocolate*
10 black sugar pearls (edible candy beads)
optional, silver luster dust
black food coloring
5 vanilla taffy rolls
5 chocolate taffy rolls
10 black sugar pearls
set of round plunger cutters
food use only paint brushes
clear piping gel
Add the sweetened condensed milk and beat just to combine.Place in a freezer safe container and freeze for at least 3 hours.
Return to freezer until ready to serve. Repeat decorating all your cones. You can store your decorated Ice Cream Cone Minions in the freezer, just be aware that after about 8 hours, the cones lose their crunch. I’ve had a few of my Minions in the freezer for a few days and the modeling chocolate goggles are still intact, but the cones are a bit soggy.
I hope you have fun making these and be sure to let me know how your kids react!
