Cookie Monster Ice Cream Cones
In 5 minutes you can make a super simple 4 ingredient Cotton Candy Ice Cream and when it's frozen use it to create these adorable Cookie Monster Ice Cream Cones.
I've been seeing lots of recipes for quick and easy ice cream made with heavy whipping cream and sweetened condensed milk all over the internet this summer and I finally had to give it a try.
All you have to do to make this ice cream is whip some cream and fold in the sweetened condensed milk and pop it in the freezer. After a few hours you have a deliciously creamy ice cream. The most amazing part of this recipe is that it does not require an ice cream maker and it takes just a few minutes of effort so you can get back outside to enjoy the summer.
Decorating your ice cream cones to look like Cookie Monster wont take much effort either. You just need to add pupils to two candy melt eyes and cut a chocolate cookie in half for his mouth then attach them to a scoop of blue ice cream.
Cookie Monster, of course, is blue, and I wanted to use an ice cream flavor that reflected his very whimsical personality, so I chose cotton candy.
To flavor the ice cream I used LorAnn Cotton Candy Oil. If you prefer, you could also use blueberry, raspberry or blackberry. LorAnn has lots of flavors to choose from.
There is unfortunately no way to flavor this ice cream naturally so that you'd get a nice blue color. If you don't mind a purple cookie monster, you could use fresh blueberries or blackberries.
If you really don't even want to make this super simple homemade ice cream, you can buy some from an ice cream shop and scoop it, decorate it, and enjoy it. You can also use store bought ice cream to make adorably cute Cookie Monster Freak Shakes.
Cookie Monster Cotton Candy Ice Cream Cones
Ingredients:(makes 6 cones)
Cotton Candy Ice Cream - *
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1-dram bottle Cotton Candy Oil
blue gel food coloring
Decorations-
6 ice cream cones
12 white candy melt wafers
black food coloring marker
3 chocolate cookies ( I used Oreos)
*I don't know who invented the simple 2 ingredient ice cream recipe, or I'd give them credit. If you do, please let me know.
Instructions:
Pour heavy whipping cream, blue food coloring and cotton candy oil into a large bowl. Whip until you achieve stiff peaks. Fold in the sweetened condensed milk. Pour into a large plastic container, cover, and freeze for at least 3 hours.
While your ice cream is chilling, make Cookie Monster's eyes and mouth.
Draw pupils onto each of the white candy melt wafers using a black food coloring marker.
Divide the sandwich cookie, scrape off the vanilla cream, and cut each cookie into a half moon shape.
I've been busy creating an entire series of ice cream cone animals that I'll share with you throughout the summer, so be sure to stop back to check them out. Here are two I made previously.

These are SO CUTE!! I absolutely love cotton candy ice cream! I've seen a lot of people using the 2-ingredient ice cream (I think Gemma at Bigger Bolder Baking invented the method) and I'm starting to think I need to give it a try!!
