There isn't much cuter than a fuzzy little bunny butt with a puffy white tail and cute little paws and it was so fun turning some ice cream cones into adorably sweet Bunny Butt Ice Cream Cones.
Each Easter I can't help but find a way to transform some sweet treat into a bunny burrowing into a hole. I've created bunny butt cupcakes, push pops, brownies, chocolates, and cookie pops, and now these ice cream cones.
I'd be hard-pressed to pick a favorite and happily, I don't have to. I can just keep making more cute bunny butt treats.
I love everything about bunnies and enjoy having them in my yard. Last spring as I was picking strawberries from my garden I was startled as the plants began to move. After I picked myself up from the grassy patch next to the garden, I got a stick so I could see what was moving underneath the foliage. To my surprise, I spotted a big furry ball moving up and down. Baby bunnies were hiding inside their fur-covered hutch.
As the season wore on and the bunnies grew, I would find them hopping around the garden. I was always cautious as I picked my berries so that I wouldn't scare them away, but alas they did have to move on.
My dog is the boss of her yard and the bunnies were not invited to stay.
Spring is almost here so maybe I'll get lucky and have a new family of rabbits move in.
For now, I'll just have to be happy with these ice cream cone bunnies.
Bunny Butt Ice Cream Cones
Ingredients per cone:
1 marshmallow
pink food coloring marker
1 chocolate ice cream cone
1 scoop vanilla ice cream, plus enough to fill the cone
1 tablespoon chocolate spread (like Nutella)
1 tablespoon crushed chocolate graham crackers or cookies
Instructions:
You'll use one marshmallow for each ice cream cone bunny.
Use a pink food coloring marker to draw bunny feet onto opposite sides (the flat end) of a marshmallow. Cut the marshmallow into three slices. You'll now have two feet and one center piece. Roll the center piece into a ball (it will be sticky.) This will become the bunny's tail.
Fill ice cream cone with vanilla ice cream leaving some room at the top. Frost the top of the ice cream with chocolate spread. Dip in crushed chocolate graham crackers or cookies.
Add one scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of the crushed cookies. Attach two bunny feet to the front of the ice cream scoop.
Add a tail and serve.
You can decorate these and freeze them to serve later if you'd prefer.
