This Halloween Pizza Vampire will be a great addition to your party! It's so delicious all of your family and friends will be dying to sink their fangs into it!

    _________

Our current love affair with vampires is creating such a frenzy for themed parties and food that I decided to create a vampire-inspired dish.

Pizza is always the first food to get devoured at my Halloween parties, so I just had to have some fun turning a pizza into a vampire for our party.

I am so excited about how this Halloween meal turned out that I even gave him a name, Count Pizzala! My vampire pizza has black olive eyes, black olive hair, a roasted red pepper smile, and garlic fangs.

I am certain my Halloween party guests are going to love this.

baked and un-baked vampire pizza topped with shredded cheese, chopped black olives, and garlic fangs.

    Ingredients

1 tube refrigerated pizza dough (11 oz.)
    ½ cup pizza sauce
    2 ½ cups mozzarella cheese
1 cup jumbo pitted black olives, drained
1 (4-inch) strip roasted red pepper or sun-dried tomato
    2 narrow garlic cloves, peeled

    Supplies

    pizza wheel or knife
large baking sheet lined with parchment paper

    Instructions:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a 12” x 18” baking pan with parchment paper.

large round pizza with two small ears and a nose in the middle.

    Shape the Vampire Pizza

    • Unroll pizza dough onto the parchment-lined pan.
    • Cut a 10” circle in the center of the dough.
    • Remove the excess dough and set it on a cutting board.
    • Cut three 2 ½” circles from the excess dough.
    • Place two of the small circles of dough on either side of the large dough circle to form the vampire's ears.
    • Roll the remaining dough circle into a ball and place it on the large dough circle for the vampire's nose.
    • Bake for 6-7 minutes until the dough is lightly golden brown.
Top the vampire shaped pizza crust with pizza sauce.

    Top the pizza.

    • Remove from oven and add toppings.
    • Spread pizza sauce over the entire dough except for the nose.
Top the vampire shaped pizza with mozzarella cheese.
    • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
    • Don't cover the nose.
Decorate the vampire shaped pizza with black olive eyes, chopped olive hair, a roasted red pepper smile, and garlic clove fangs.

    Decorate Count Pizzala

    • Cut one jumbo black olive in half lengthwise.
      • These olive halves will be the vampire's eyes.
    • Place above and to either side of his nose.
    • Finely chop the remaining olives.
      • The chopped olives will become the vampire's hair.
    • Sprinkle the chopped olives all along the top of the vampire's head forming his pointed brow.* (see notes below)
    • Add the strip of roasted red pepper for his mouth and attach two garlic clove fangs.
      • If your garlic cloves aren't shaped like a fang, cut them into a curved point.

Return the vampire pizza to the oven and bake for 6-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

    Serve hot.

Notes for creating the vampire's brow:

    • To easily form the vampire's brow, place two equal-size bowls over the vampire's face.
    • The bowls should meet at the center of the vampire's face to form the point in his brow.
    • Sprinkle the olives around the bowls.
    • Remove the bowls.
    • You will now have a clean-looking hairline.

    Variations

    skull-shaped pizza topped with bacon
skull pizza topped with chopped pepperoni.

    Skull-Shaped Pizzas

You could cut your pizza dough into a skull shape then top it with sauce and cheese. Use chopped bacon (top image) or pepperoni (bottom image) to create the eyes, nose, and mouth.

We might have to just attempt this one, we are a pizza loving family! Would be cute to make, if not Halloween, to look like your child too! Hehe .

Heh. I was going to ask, "but how did you get the olives only on his hair, instead of all over" but you answered that already. Great job!

Thanks for all the nice comments. This recipe is easy enough to have your kids help. Get creative, if your kids wont eat olives, use sausage or hamburger for the hair. If you want more toppings on your pizza, just put them under the cheese.
