Make Valentine's Day special by serving a festive dinner. The whole family, including your kids, will fall in love with these fun Valentine's Day dinner ideas.
As much as I love going out to dinner I avoid restaurants on Valentine's Day. I prefer to skip the crowded restaurant and eat at home on February 14th.
I can assume if you are reading this that you feel the same way. Or, perhaps you have kids and you want to share a fun meal with them on Valentine's Day so you are looking for some recipe ideas that will make them happy.
You've come to the right place. Below you will find links to all my family-friendly Valentine's Day dinner ideas including recipes for traditional dishes like tacos, calzones, enchiladas, and corn dogs that have been crafted to look really festive for this holiday.
Valentine's Day Dinner for Kids
Your kids will fall in love with these fun recipes.
The Teddy Bear Taco Tart is one of my favorite Valentine's Day recipes.
You cut a sheet of puff pastry into a teddy bear then top it with cheese and taco meat. Then you decorate it with cheese, olives, and a slice of red pepper. It's so cute and your kids will love it.
Turn pizza pinwheels into Hugs and Kisses Pizza Pinwheels.
It's so easy to arrange pepperoni and cheese stuffed pizza pinwheels into X's and O's for this holiday meal and your kids will think you are the coolest mom ever!
Ask your sweeties to "be mine" by serving them some “Bee Mine” Corn Dog Bumble Bees.
These cuties are super easy to make. You add some food coloring stripes and corn chip wings to store-bought corn dogs then pipe "Be Mine" in mustard or ketchup on the plate and you have a special dinner that will make your kids smile.
Your kids will squeal with delight when you serve them Mini Cheese Ball Warm Fuzzies.
Seriously, what kid wouldn't love getting a warm fuzzy on Valentine's Day especially if it were made out of cheese?
The Calzone Hearts are so simple to make using store-bought pizza dough and a heart-shaped baking pan.
Stuff them with a blend of cheese and your kid's favorite pizza toppings.
Valentine's Day Starters (salad, bread, appetizers)
Start off your holiday meal with a fresh Valentine’s Day Salad.
Toss cucumbers, feta cheese and Kalamata olives onto a salad then dress it up with heart-shaped tomatoes and drizzle on some tomato vinaigrette to make the perfect beginning to your heart-themed dinner.
Slice into this Parmesan Crusted Heart Reveal Bread to find a bright pink heart hiding inside.
If you want to really surprise your family, bake a loaf of this cheesy quick bread. The bread is so delicious and fun too!
Everyone will love Mozzarella Cheese Filled Hearts.
This is one of my most popular Valentine's Day recipes because they taste great and are so easy to make. I served my little heart-shaped pastries with roasted red pepper pesto, but you can use Marinara sauce instead.
Speaking of roasted red peppers, my Roasted Red Pepper Dip is so yummy.
Serve it with crackers, bread, or heart-shaped crisps.
If you want to really wow your family then make Fried Won Ton Roses.
These crispy rose-shape appetizers can be filled with artichoke dip or a flavored cream cheese. You can even turn them into crab rangoons. No matter what is stuffed inside, these appetizers are sure to impress.
Dinner recipes to love!
Serve your sweetheart a meal that will make him or her fall in love with you all over again.
It's so easy to plate Balsamic Chicken & Tomatoes so it looks like a heart.
This meal is quick and easy to make and it's so delicious. As an added bonus it's heart-healthy too!
Spice up your meal by serving Chicken Enchilada Hearts.
Layers of heart-shaped tortillas are filled with chicken, cheese, and lots of red enchilada sauce. You can make this meal as spicy as you like.
Turn an Italian classic into Chicken Parmesan Hearts.
An oven-baked heart-shaped breast of chicken is topped with gooey mozzarella cheese and a drizzle of marinara sauce. This is one of the first meals I made for my husband and he loved it!
