Make these cute and quirky Rice Krispie Treat Snowmen for Christmas or a wintertime dessert. Each white chocolate-dipped cereal treat is fun to decorate using modeling chocolate or fondant.

Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but these snowman Rice Krispies treats are so delightful.
Their googly eyes, buck teeth, and cheeky little grins just make me feel all warm inside, which is good because it's 2 degrees Fahrenheit here today. BRRR.
Over the weekend, the weather forecasters predicted 6-10 inches of snow here in Dayton.

It never came. We got an inch of snow. It was not even enough to make a snowman.
So, I decided to make my own, out of Rice Krispies Treats, Candy Melts, and modeling chocolate.
I had so much fun making these cute treats. I hope you do too!

Instructions
I used store-bought treats to make these snowmen. If you are looking to use homemade Rice Krispie Treats, head on over to my new website, HowToMakeRiceKrispies.com. You can also check out how we taste-tested 20 versions of the Rice Krispie Treat recipe to come up with the absolute BEST Rice Krispie Treat Recipe.
Follow the recipe provided in the link, cut the treats into rectangles, and use them in the steps below:

Dip treats in white chocolate.
Unwrap Rice Krispies Treats and insert a stick in one end. Pour melted confectionery coating into a tall glass.
Dip each Rice Krispies Treat into the candy coating. Remove and allow excess coating to drip back into the glass.
Set on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
Freeze for 5-8 minutes.

Make modeling chocolate snowmen features.
Color some white modeling chocolate using orange, black, and blue coloring. Using a fondant roller, roll out a small amount of each color on a non-stick baking mat.
Cut the following for each snowman:
- Black - 1 round, 1 oval, 1 (# 8 tip) round, 1 (# 6 tip) round
- White - 1 round, 1 oval, 1 (# 2 tip) round, 1 (# 3 tip) round
- Blue - 1 (½ inch wide by 3 ½ inch long) strip, 2 small round balls
- Orange - 1 teardrop-shaped carrot

Make modeling chocolate eyes.
Brush a very thin layer of water on the back of a white modeling chocolate oval and press it onto the black modeling chocolate oval.
Do the same with a white circle and a black circle.
Then attach a small black pupil to each of those eyes and add a tiny white highlight.

Decorate the Snowmen Rice Krispie Treat Lollipops.
Use white chocolate to attach the eyes and nose to the white chocolate-dipped Rice Krispies Treats.
Use a black food coloring marker to draw on a silly smile and buck teeth.
Wrap the blue strip around the top of the treat, and attach two blue modeling chocolate balls to make the earmuffs.

Storage
These will keep, stored in an airtight container for up to a month.

So sorry you've been sick! I too have been under-the-weather..longer than I thought I would be. You though, have been very productive with these too cute snowmen. Your treats always makes me smile! Stay warm. 🙂

Sorry to hear you've been sick as well. December was a terrible month around here. I got sick when I got home from California, and was ill for about a week. My husband got sick and was in bed for 2 weeks. He's just now feeling better. Then I got sick again and was in bed for a solid week and am just now doing better. Being sick stinks. I get so antsy. I hate being in bed. I get bored after one day. When I finally got out of bed, all I wanted to do was create.
I hope you are feeling well now. I look forward to seeing your new creations.

Well now we know ... Rice Krispie Treats are like medicine! So happy to hear that you are up and about 🙂 One inch of snow is pretty to look at and no shoveling required! Your snowmen have so much personality!
beth
They are the best kind of medicine I know!
It is pretty here today. I certainly will never complain about having 1 inch instead of 12 inches of snow. Once, years ago, I lived in Kentucky, and the weatherman predicted 1 inch of snow. Instead we woke up to find 16 inches in our yard. The city was shutdown for 5 days. So, I'm happy with one!

It is nice to finally be up and moving again. I can deal with the coughing now that I at least have some energy. I spent days thinking of blog post ideas and can't wait to make them. I just couldn't be in bed one more day.
