Want to serve the cutest Thanksgiving dessert ever? Make Chocolate Dipped Rice Krispie Treat Turkeys using store bought cereal treats, milk chocolate, and modeling chocolate.

When I came across an incredibly cute turkey t-shirt that I pinned to my Thanksgiving Crafts and Decor board, I was so inspired to turn it into a fun holiday treat. When I saw the crazy little face on the brown shirt, I instantly knew it needed to be made out of chocolate.
I loved the idea of a rectangle shaped turkey, like the shirt, so I chose to use store bought Rice Krispies Treats to make the turkeys.
Being I wanted to make sure my turkeys had crazy googly eyes, I chose to make my own out of modeling chocolate (candy clay) which looks like fondant but tastes like chocolate. So, these Chocolate Rice Krispie Treat Turkey Pops taste as great as the look. Chocolate Dipped Rice Krispie Treat Turkeys
Rice Krispies Treats (store bought or homemade)
melted and tempered pure milk chocolate or melted light Cocoa Candy Melts*
white modeling chocolate, recipe here
orange, black, and red candy coloring
*You’ll use 1-1 1/2 ounces of chocolate per cereal treat, but you’ll need extra for dipping. I only made three treats and filled a tall glass with about 12 ounces of milk chocolate. I had plenty left over, but needed that much in order to easily dip my treats.
striped straws, long lollipop sticks, or craft sticks
baking sheet lined with parchment paper
non-stick silicone baking mat or use powdered sugar dusted on a cutting board
fondant rolling pin
set of round plunger cutters (or use a #4 or 5 pastry tip and round metal cutters)
Dip the tip of your straw, lollipop stick, or craft stick in melted chocolate. Push it into one end of the Rice Krispie Treat. Allow that to dry. Dip the cereal treat into the melted chocolate. Remove and allow all the excess chocolate to drip off. Set it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
If using pure milk chocolate, refrigerate for 5-10 minutes until set. If using light cocoa candy melts, freeze for 5-10 minutes. Allow to come to room temperature before decorating.
Color some modeling chocolate using red, orange and black candy coloring. See detailed instructions on my Chocolate Making Tips page. Using a fondant roller, roll all the colors of modeling chocolate out to about 1/16th of an inch. You can roll it out on a non-stick silicone baking mat or on a cutting board lightly dusted with some powdered sugar.
Use a knife to cut out triangles from the orange for the beaks. Pinch off tiny pieces of red and roll into a tear drop, then shape into the Turkey’s waddle. Use a small round plunger cutter or the tip of a #4 or 5 pastry tip to make the black pupils. Cut two different size rounds from the white using plunger cutters or round cookie cutters.
Very lightly brush the backsides of the black pupils with water and attach them to the white eyes. I pressed down on the black pupils, flattening them a bit to get them to the size I liked before attaching them. Also use water to attach the facial features to the chocolate dipped rice cereal treat bars.

These Rice Krispies Treat Turkey Pops can be stored in an airtight container for up to a month. Keep at room temperature away from a direct heat source.
Package in clear cellophane bags to give as gifts.
