Cover a butterfly-shaped cookie with flavored cream cheese and a colorful assortment of fresh fruit to create this fun Butterfly Fruit Pizza. This sweet summer dessert tastes as amazing as it looks.
A large cookie makes a wonderful canvas for frosted art or a bright arrangement of fruit.
Over the years I've had so much fun making and decorating fruit pizzas to share with you including:
- Strawberry Kiwi Fruit Pizza Watermelon - my most popular fruit pizza that looks like watermelon slices
- Fruit Pizza Beach Ball - the perfect dessert for a beach or pool party
- Fruit Pizza Flowers - daisy cookies look so colorful topped with raspberries and blueberries
- Fruit Pizza Strawberries - giant strawberry-shaped cookies topped with strawberries and a drizzle of chocolate
- Playing Card Fruit Pizza - makes a fun gameday dessert
- Uncle Sam Hat Fruit Pizza - red, white, and blue fruit pizza perfect for any patriotic party
- Swirly Pop Fruit Pizza - fun lollipop cookies topped with colorful fruit
Butterflies come in so many beautiful colors and have countless types of patterns on their wings and I knew that I could make a beautiful fruit pizza butterfly.
I started by finding a simple butterfly coloring page (here) as a guide then cut out sugar cookie dough using the template, baked it, topped it with flavored cream cheese and fruit.
Using strawberry-flavored cream cheese was easy but I have to admit that I prefer the no-bake cheesecake fluff topping that I used to make my Strawberry Kiwi Fruit Pizza Watermelon.

Or mix 4 ounces cream cheese, ½ cup powdered sugar, ½ cup whipped topping, and 1 teaspoon vanilla together for a sweet cream cheese fluff topping.

- Cool completely.
- Spread your choice of cheesecake or cream cheese filling over the cookie.
- Top with fruit to create a beautiful butterfly wing pattern.
- I used green grapes to create it's the body, bananas for its eyes, pineapple, strawberries, peaches, for the wings.
- I added two kiwi slices to create large spots on my butterfly wings, then I piped some black food gel to make pupils and a smile.
- Serve or refrigerate up to 8 hours for the best flavor.
- This pizza can be kept for two days in the refrigerator but tastes best the day it's made.

I love this! I'm trying to make it for my daughters 3rd birthday tomorrow. I'm having trouble printing, of course! I'm increasing the size of the photo, but it is not printing on a 2nd page. Help! : )

Hi Lacey,
Are you trying to print the butterfly coloring page? I think what I did was copied and pasted it into a program (I used Printshop) and printed it twice. I increased the size of the butterfly to the size I wanted, then scooted it to the left which cut off some of the right side of the butterfly. I printed that page, then I scooted it over to the right and printed that page. I cut it out and taped it together. I hope that helps.

I love this! I'm trying to make it for my daughters 3rd birthday tomorrow. How do I get it to print correctly for me? I increased the size of the coloring page, but it's not printing on two separate pages. It just stops printing. Help! : )

This is awesome! I shared it at Holiday and Party Crafts Cafemom and will also share it on my blog as well Craftee Crafters with a link back here for the tutorial. Thanks so much I Love this! I'll be doing this craft with my grandson with some other butterfly crafts where we'll discuss being reborn and resurrection. Also the beauty of the butterfly after it spends time in a cocoon. I'd like to make the Blue Morpho butterfly cause that's what he watches on Go Diego Go 🙂 Sorry for the long winded comment 🙂
