May the 4th Be With You – Jabba the Hutt Cake

May 4, 2014 This post may contain affiliate links.

In a kitchen far, far away you can create this 3D-Sculpted Star Wars cake. This Jabba the Hutt Cake will give you the heebie jeebies just like Leia when she was held captive by this ugly, giant slug.

Jabba the Hutt Cake

Happy Star Wars Day. Did you know it was Star Wars Day? If so, then you will probably really get a kick out of this cake.

When I was asked to create a Jabba the Hutt cake to celebrate Star Wars Day, I was nervous. Sculpting cakes is really challenging and I don’t have a lot of experience doing it, but I’m learning, by trial and error.

Luckily for me, Jabba is a slug-like creature so being neat and tidy wasn’t all that important, the more wrinkles the better. I think for having sculpted only a few cakes in my life, I created a pretty good likeness of this evil Star Wars character.

I know you don’t have a lot of time to get this created for any celebration you may be having today, but we had to wait for approval from the film studio before we could unveil this cake.

Aack. I hope they liked it! They approved it, anyway.

When I was sculpting Jabba's head for the third time, I could have used the force!

I would make a good Jabba the Hutt person, I'm seeing more wrinkles then I want – 😉 The wrinkles look adorable on your cake, looks like the 4th was with you! 🙂
