Chocolate Covered Pretzel Turkeys

November 2, 2014 This post may contain affiliate links.

Crunchy, sweet, cute. These are all words that would describe these Chocolate Covered Pretzel Turkeys. They will be perfect for your next Thanksgiving and everyone will be amazed by how authentic they look.

Chocolate Covered Pretzel Turkeys

Hi all, it’s Kim, The Partiologist. I’ve had a lot of fun this Halloween, however, it’s time to move on from Ghosts to Gobblers don’t you think?  Everyone loves a chocolate dipped pretzel and to make them even more fun I’ve turned them into Chocolate Covered Pretzel Turkeys.

Here’s how to get ready for dipping.

What a great idea, right – Spoon Pretzels!!  I can just imagine all the ways to use them.

And the ever popular pretzel dipping sticks.

Gather up your supplies.

Colored candy melts, ready for dipping.

Royal icing eyes.

Using red fondant and a mini paisley cutter cut out the waddle.  (I promise, I didn’t make that up!)

Dip the pretzel spoons half way into melted chocolate chips.

Use a toothpick and add a bit of chocolate to the back of the eyes,  then place on the chocolate dipped pretzel spoon.

Again, add a bit of chocolate to the back of the waddle and place on the pretzel.

Place the entire turkey head on the pretzel tail feathers with chocolate.  (Photo below)

Now it’s time to dip the tail feathers!

One at a time, dip into different color candy melts and place on parchment paper to dry.

Arrange your pretzel turkey feathers into the shape you wish.

Place the pretzel on the feathers to make sure they fit.

Add a spoonful of chocolate to the ends of the pretzels to hold together and place the turkey pretzel on the top.

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to shake my tail feathers!

Hi! I’m Kim, the girl behind the pink hair… I love to plan and host parties and show how to recreate them from start to finish. I also love making cute edible sweets, where I turn anything plain into a party. I hope you enjoy my creations for HUNGRY HAPPENINGS and party along with me each week.
