Chocolate Baileys Irish Cream Filled Beer Mug Cakes

    Beer Mug Cakes

Now this is my kind of beer - a moist chocolate cake filled with luscious Baileys Irish Cream ganache covered in white modeling chocolate and topped off with some whipped cream.

More of these beers touched my lips than any of the liquid variety ever has. I'm not a fan of the foam-topped drink, but when I was asked to create these cakes for Tablespoon.com, I knew exactly how to go about it.

A few years ago Amanda from I am Baker created some Green Beer Mug Cupcakes which I used as my inspiration. Her mugs were so adorably cute for St. Patrick's Day.

Most dads love an ice cold beer, so why not make their favorite beverage into an amazing Father's Day dessert? These Chocolate Baileys Irish Cream Filled Beer Mug Cakes are hilarious and delicious!

I was asked to make my beer mug cakes look more like actual beer mugs. In order to do that, I needed more height than I could get using cupcakes, so I had to get creative.

You'll have to pop on over to Tablespoon.com
to see how I made these Beer Mug Cupcakes with Baileys Filling.

For kids and adults too, I also created Root Beer Mug Cakes. You can find the recipe and tutorial here on Hungry Happenings ...

What can be used in place of A&W dessert topper for the root beer float cakes since there is no A&W around me? I tried using a cupcake plunger once and it was disastrous!!! Tore the entire cupcake apart.

You can use corn syrup to make the white modeling chocolate then add some root beer extract or LorAnn Oils root beer flavoring and some brown food coloring. Start by adding a few drops of the extract or oil and the food coloring and knead it into the modeling chocolate. Add more until you get a nice flavor and color.

If you want, you can also order the A&W Root Beer Ice Cream Syrup from Amazon (ad) - https://amzn.to/2JtKIPv

If you are having trouble with the cupcake plunger, you can freeze your cakes for about 30 minutes to get them firm. Then the cupcake plunger should work well.

        Enjoy!

Does anyone know how many you make at a time? Also so you just use cool whip for the top correct?

Thanks for your help in advance

Hi Jackie, the recipe makes 10 beer mug cakes and does have Cool Whip on top. You can use white frosting if you prefer.

Thank, Kendra. Baking in the mason jars was the perfect way to get the tall cakes I wanted. I think they look so much nicer than cupcakes.
