You won’t believe how easy it is to make these adorable Cheesy Snowman Snacks using Farm Rich™ Mozzarella Bites. If you are looking for a savory holiday treat or a fun Christmas snack for kids, these are the perfect solution for busy December days.

Ya' know how the kids who made Frosty the Snowman fell in love with him immediately? Well, that's how I felt as soon as I created my first Cheesy Snowman Snack.
My heart melted as I saw the sweet, savory snowman smiling up at me.

Why You’ll Love This Savory Holiday Snack
While I spend most of my time developing holiday dessert recipes, creating savory snacks is a fun challenge. I love turning a simple appetizer into something "cute."
One of my favorite go-to, store-bought snacks is Farm Rich™ Mozzarella Bites. These cheese-filled puffs have a billowy, round shape that is absolutely perfect for building a DIY edible snowman.

The Best Way to Decorate Mozzarella Bites
When I stacked three of the mozzarella pizza crusts together, they formed the perfect snowman. At first, I tried "gluing" olive circles and tiny carrot noses on using cream cheese. It was adorable but time-consuming. Instead, I found a much faster method: Food Coloring Markers.
Pro Tip: How to Use Food Markers on Frozen Food
I drew right onto the frozen Mozzarella Bites, but found that my marker was drying out. Here is my favorite hack:
- Dip the tip of your markers into liquid food coloring before adding each detail.
- It re-wets the tip and provides a bold, solid color.
- It gives you much more control than a paintbrush.

- 1 box Farm Rich™ Mozzarella Bites (found in the freezer section at Kroger, Walmart, or Meijer)
- Liquid food coloring, Black and Orange
- Warm pizza sauce or marinara for serving
-
Prepare the "Ink": Pour a few drops of black liquid food coloring into one small bowl and orange into another.
-
Decorate while Frozen: Working with the Mozzarella Bites while still frozen, dip your black food marker into the liquid coloring. Draw two eyes, a "coal" smile, and three buttons.
-
Add the Carrot Nose: Dip the orange marker into the orange liquid and draw a small triangle nose.
-
Note: Be sure to wipe the marker tips on a paper towel occasionally to remove any frost or crumbs.
-
Bake to Perfection: Place the decorated bites on a baking sheet. Bake according to the package directions until the crust is golden and the cheese is melty.
-
Build Your Snowman: Remove from the oven. Carefully slide three Mozzarella Bites onto a wooden skewer to create the snowman body.
-
Crucial Tip: Always skewer after baking so the gooey mozzarella cheese does not ooze out in the oven!
-
Serve & Enjoy: Serve immediately while warm with a side of pizza sauce.

Add a Scarf: Use a strip of roasted red pepper or a piece of green onion to give your snowman a festive scarf!
Storage: These are best served fresh and hot. If you have leftovers, reheat them in the air fryer to keep the crust crispy.
Marker Care: Always wipe your markers clean before storing them to prevent the tips from hardening.
