    Angry Bird Party Ideas

Modified: Jan 5, '18 · Published: Aug 12, '13 · By: Beth Klosterboer · Commission earned on paid or sponsored links.

Inspired by one of my favorite games to play when I'm bored, these Angry Birds Party Ideas are adorable and festive. They are perfect for any upcoming birthday and will definitely be a hit with the pigs!

    Angry Birds Party Ideas

It has been so much fun around my home lately, with my Russian visitors and relatives that came to visit this weekend. I'm exhausted, and am so glad I asked Michelle, to stop by Hungry Happenings today to share some of her Creative Food. Michelle blogs about the whimsical lunches and snacks she makes for her daughter. By turning ordinary food into fun food, she has gotten her daughter to try a larger variety of food. As a kid, I might have even eaten peas if they looked like rain drops!

    Welcome, Michelle ...

Hi! I'm Michelle from Creative Food, a blog all about presenting food in a fun and creative way! I am so happy to be here to guest post here on Hungry Happenings! I am such a fan of everything Beth makes! She is so creative and talented with food and I am honored to be here! 🙂

Today I'm going to share our fun food creations for my daughter's fifth birthday. She has been such a huge fan of Angry Birds for a long time and actually had decided almost a year before her birthday that she wanted a Angry Birds themed party!  We decided to make healthy fun food creations and I think they are easy enough for anyone to recreate!

    Angry Birds Party Ideas

For her party we wanted to have healthy appetizers: fruits and vegetables. We decided to go with fruit salads and a vegetable platter. Our fruit salad was a mix of watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, strawberries, apples, grapes, blueberries and blackberries, but of course you could make your own favorite mix. From our fruit salads I made four fruit Angry Birds; Red, Black, Yellow and Blue, two of which I will show you here.

To make the red Angry Bird I filled up a bowl of fruit salad (minus the watermelon and pineapple). I layered the watermelon and pineapple on the top by hand to make the red Angry Bird. It was easiest to start from the outside and go in. I began with the pineapple by placing slices all around the bowl and then filled the circle with sliced watermelon. The face is made from blackberries, apples, blueberries and cantaloupe. I dipped the apples in lemon juice to prevent them from browning.

For the yellow Angry Bird I again used filled up a bowl full of fruit salad (minus pineapple and watermelon). I then arranged the pineapple and watermelon on top to look like the yellow Angry Bird. I used watermelon for his eyebrows and his eyes were apple slices, blueberries and a cantaloupe beak.

These Angry Bird fruit salads were seriously so simple to make, and everyone loved them!

For the veggies we made our own vegetable platter. We cut our baby carrots, celery, bell peppers and broccoli and decided the white Angry Bird would go inside the veggie ranch dip! To make his face we used red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, baby carrots and blueberries.

This vegetable platter was one of the first things to disappear at the party table!

And of course no Angry Birds party is complete without some Angry Pigs!

For the pigs we did cucumber "pig noses". The noses were made using a large straw. So simple to make and they were a big hit with all the kids!

This party was so much fun to put together and I loved how we kept all the food healthy and simple, yet still fun! Many times we go to kids parties and it feels like a huge sugar rush from beginning to end. I personally did not want to do that because I do not let my daughter eat a lot of candy. I will say that at this party none of the kids complained of all the fruits and vegetables or about wanting sweets, and they actually all went for seconds from the vegetable platter! Sometimes presentation is everything! 🙂

Another big thank you to Beth for letting me guest post and I hope you enjoyed our Angry Birds Party.

Oh, thank you so much Michelle! I really appreciate you taking time to create a post for Hungry Happenings, especially this week. My aunt and cousins and their kids were here since Saturday and now my brother and his kids have arrived for the week. We are off to Kings Island amusement park today. We're having so much fun, but I'm a bit (well, more than a bit) tired!
