  • 24 ounces Bob Evans Mashed Potatoes or homemade
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices cooked bacon finely chopped
  • butter to grease molds
  • 8 ounces Nacho Cheese Flavored Doritos crushed into fine crumbs
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 1-2 tablespoons sour cream
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Stir together mashed potatoes, egg, cheddar cheese, and bacon.
  3. Grease the football cavities with butter. Sprinkle about a tablespoon of crushed Doritos into each football cavity.
  4. Spoon an even layer of mashed potatoes into each football (about 2 tablespoons.)
  5. Sprinkle more Doritos crumbs over the mashed potatoes. Press the crumbs into the potatoes using your fingers.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove footballs from mold.
  7. Heat a thin layer of oil over medium heat. Fry footballs until golden brown, about 30 seconds on each side. Drain on paper towels.
  8. Pipe sour cream laces and stripes onto footballs. Serve hot.
