Chocolate Snack Cake Bats

Dress up store-bought chocolate snacks cakes using food coloring, chocolate, and candy eyes to create these cute Snack Cake Bats.

Ingredients
  • 8 chocolate cake rolls (Little Debbie Swiss Rolls, Hostess Ho Ho's, or Drakes Yodels)
  • 1 black food coloring marker
  • 10 ounces melted dark cocoa candy melts (or dark almond bark or melting wafers)
  • 16 candy eyes
Instructions
  1. Draw some bat wings on a piece of paper allowing enough room for the snack cake in between the wings.
  2. Draw a mouth and fangs on each snack cake using a black food coloring marker.

  3. Fill your squeeze bottle, disposable pastry bag, or zip-top bag with melted dark cocoa candy melts.

  4. Squeeze a small drop on the back of each candy eye and attach them to the snack cake just above the mouth.

  5. Slide the drawing of your wings under your parchment paper.
  6. Pipe the melted confectionery coating/candy melts over the drawing creating your wings.
  7. Pipe a strip of candy coating in the middle of the wings then set the snack cake on top of that.
  8. Refrigerate until the wings are set, about 3-5 minutes.

  9. Remove the snack cake bat from the refrigerator and carefully peel off the parchment paper.

  10. Repeat.
