OR 12 ounces melted light cocoa confectionery coating/Candy Melts
6
Nutter Butter Cookies
2
ounces
light brown modeling chocolate/Candy Clay
½
ounce
black candy clay
½
ounce
red candy clay
12
(½ inch) candy eyes
Instructions
Pour the chocolate into a 3-4 inch tall glass, mason jar or mug.
Use a thin knife to crack open the Nutter Butter Cookies leaving the filling on one cookie half.
Brush the other cookie half with a thin layer of the chocolate.
Lay the top ⅓ rd of a craft stick over the chocolate then flip it over so that both sides are covered in chocolate.
Set the other cookie half on top recreating the sandwich cookie.
Repeat with all the cookies then allow the chocolate to harden.
Roll out the light brown modeling chocolate/candy clay to about 3/16th inch thickness.
Cut out six 1 ½ inch circles for the snouts and twelve 1 ⅞ inch tear drops for the ears.
Pinch off small pieces of the black candy clay and shape them into noses.
Make tiny tongues using the red candy clay.
Reshape the chocolate snout so that it's more oval.
Attach the nose to the snout using a dab of water.
Use the blunt end of a wood skewer to create 3 dimples on either side of the nose.
Attach the tongue to the bottom edge of the snout using water.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper or wax paper.
Arrange the candy clay ears with just enough room in between the two so that the Nutter Butter Pops can be set on top.
Dip a Nutter Butter Pop into the chocolate.
Lift it out of the glass and allow the excess to drip off.
Set on the candy clay ears.
Immediately attach the snout and two candy eyes.
Repeat creating 5 more puppy pops.
If using pure chocolate place the pops in the refrigerator to chill until the chocolate hardens for 5-10 minutes.
If using Candy Melts place them in the freezer instead.
