Have you ever tried your hand at making pancake art? Until recently I had not, but that all changed when I was asked to create some Pretty in Pink Pancake Art for Tablespoon.com
I really had fun creating my pancake art and found it much easier than expected. That was because I did a lot of research and found several pancake artists who use what I’d call the cold method, which is piping the colored pancake batter onto a cold skillet, then heating it up to cook the pancakes.
I figured that would be much easier than trying to draw quickly as the pancakes cooked on a hot skillet. If I made a mistake, I was able to wipe it up and start over.
If you’d like to see my step-by-step tutorial so you can make your own Pretty in Pink Pancakes, head on over to Tablespoon.com.
What a great way to start the day! LOVE!!
I totally agree!
oh so THAT's how you make them! mine always spread out and ended up looking like giant blobs cuz i poured the mix on a hot oiled pa-lol thanks so much for the great tute Beth 🙂 love all your pancakes :>D
I watched quite a lot of videos of people making pancake art and decided piping the batter onto a cold griddle would be much easier for me. I don't draw quickly. It worked out great.
Can you even imagine how much fun the little girls would have to wake up to this for breakfast after a sleepover! Adorable!
That is a great suggestion. These pancakes are perfect for a girl's sleepover!
These are just TOO cute!!! Love!
I don't have little girls, so my boys probably wouldn't appreciate these. No pink in my house. However, I could see doing these for a Moms' weekend or girlfriend getaway if you hosted it at your house. So pretty!
You can use the same technique to make pancakes boys would appreciate too. That's next on my list of things to do.
These are adorable for a brunch!
Thanks, Jamie =)
