Spending time with friends doing what you love makes for the BEST weekends ever and when you get to enjoy good food and ice cream cakes together it’s even better!

Don’t you just love spending time with your friends? Recently a group of amazingly talented, insanely creative, and ridiculously fun women joined me at my home for a Fun Food Blogger Retreat.
These women all love to make food crafts and they all have blogs where they share their creations. We are kindred spirits. No one else gets me like these ladies. We all agreed that spending time in the kitchen, whether alone, with family or with friends, makes us incredibly happy.
Being able to share our talents and our tasty treats with others brings us immense joy. So imagine how happy my kitchen was during our time together. The energy in the room was electrifying.
We started our weekend by touring the KitchenAid Mixer plant. We had a great tour guide so even walking around the factory in bright orange vests was really fun.
Our second day was spent in my candy kitchen. Fun is an understatement when you get to hang out in the kitchen with friends making chocolate. We went live on Facebook showing all our fans how to paint lollipops using Wilton Candy Melts. Desiree from Wilton joined in on the fun.
Then, as if things couldn’t have gotten any more exciting, we spent an afternoon making food crafts using Farm Rich products. You can see all our fun Farm Rich snack creations, here.
To top off all the excitement we went shopping at Kroger for some Carvel® and OREO® Ice Cream Cakes. Even shopping together was exciting.
We found the freezer case in the bakery section of the grocery store and were thrilled to find so many ice cream cakes to choose from.
I Love Ice Cream Cakes showcases delicious frozen ice cream cakes for all occasions, in many different styles and sizes.
There were so many great looking cakes to choose from including this Game Ball® Ice Cream Cake which ended up being my absolute favorite. Oh, my. Look at that cake. It’s loaded with chocolate crunchies and when you cut into it, you’ll find layers of chocolate and vanilla ice cream and a wonderful layer of fudgy chocolate crunchies. Can you tell how much I love those crunchies???
That cake was SO good!

Of course, choosing a favorite was difficult being they were all so yummy. My family and friends would definitely love it if I brought one of the NEW Carvel® Ice Cream Cookie Cakes to a party. Ice cream is sandwiched in between two giant chocolate chip cookies and there are chocolate crunchies all around the outside edge of the ice cream. YUM!
The cake was easy to cut into wedges and each slice can be eaten with a fork or you can just hold it in your hands and eat it like an ice cream sandwich.
I know they’d also smile while being served a slice of the OREO® Ice Cream Cake too.
It’s a large cake filled with vanilla ice cream and OREO® Cookies, plus whipped frosting topped with a large OREO® cookie wafer and OREO® cookie pieces.
What’s not to love?
If you are celebrating a birthday or other special occasion, you can get Carvel® Ice Cream Cakes that have “happy birthday” written on them or you can ask the cake decorator at your grocery store to add a special message. Being Kim, The Partiologist, was celebrating her birthday later in the month and we all love decorating cakes ourselves, we brought the cake home and Meaghan, from The Decorated Cookie, decorated it herself. It turned out so cute.
I love that the cake has a layer of chocolate and vanilla ice cream and more of those yummy chocolate crunchies inside.

We had so much fun shopping for and eating the ice cream cakes that we made a video to share our excitement.

Now that, is a LOT of happy!! Looks and sounds like a great time and then Kim got to celebrate her birthday too! I have just heard about the KA tour and how cool that y’all got to experience it together. :o) Now if I can just get hubby to bring home one of those yummy ice cream cakes tomorrow! *wink*
We had SO much fun together. The Kitchen Aid tour was really great being we had a fantastic tour guide. I don’t know that I’d make a special trip to go on the tour but if you are in the Dayton area, then it’s definitely worth the time. I hope you are able to convince your husband to treat you with an ice cream cake. They are SO good!!!
