    Calzone Footballs

Published: Jan 16, '19 · Modified: Feb 14, '23 · By: Beth · This post may contain affiliate links.

Get ready for the big game by baking Calzone Footballs for your party guests. Made with homemade pizza dough and filled with 3 kinds of cheese, pepperoni, and sausage these football-shaped calzones will have your guests cheering for more.

Football shapes plates topped with Calzone Footballs are set on top of a football field tablecloth along with shot glasses filled with homemade marinara sauce and tiny foam fingers and football field napkins.

If your hungry game day fans love pizza why not mix things up a bit by serving these Calzone Footballs stuffed with your favorite pizza toppings?

My footballs are filled with ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese along with mini pepperoni and sausage but you can fill them with ham & pineapple, or mushroom and pepperoni, or peppers, olives, and onions. There are so many possibilities.

Be sure to serve them with marinara sauce so your party guests can dunk their Calzone Footballs into the fresh tomato sauce for extra flavor.

Football shapes calzones served on ceramic football plates are set next to football themed shot glasses filled with homemade marinara sauce on a table covered in a bright green football field table cloth.

    RECIPE

Head on over to Dixie Crystals to find the recipe to make your own Calzone Footballs.

You'll find an amazingly easy and wonderfully tasty homemade pizza dough recipe, a zesty marinara sauce recipe, along with the instructions for making these football-shaped calzones.

Be sure to also make some fun game day desserts like...

Snack on some Super Bowl Popcorn with Chocolate Almond Footballs while cheering on your favorite team. Make and decorate your white chocolate popcorn with white drizzles of orange and blue if you are cheering for the Broncos or with black, blue, and silver if you want the Panthers to win.

Make 2 ingredient Chocolate Caramel Fudge then use it to make these fun fudge footballs with white chocolate laces. See how at HungryHappenings.com.
