Surprise your kids with this fun Back to School treat. They will love these Donut Hole Apples.
Imagine how surprised your child will be to find one of these sweet packages of Donut Hole Apples tucked away in his or her backpack. The special note will surely make them smile and you’ll love how easy these are to create using a box of Farm Rich Cinnamon Sugar Bakery Donut Holes.
Have you seen boxes of these new Farm Rich Bakery products in your grocery store yet?
I picked up these Cinnamon Sugar Donut Holes but I can’t wait to also trythe Chocolate Donut Holes, Cinnamon Sugar Scones, and Blueberry Scones, all of which are now available at Walmart in the freezer section.
I was so impressed with the flavor of the Cinnamon Sugar Donut Holes. Once warmed up and rolled in cinnamon sugar (the packet comes in the box!) the Donut Holes tasted just like they came from a bakery.
Farm Rich Bakery items are priced from $3.99 to $4.99 (prices may vary by store) which is a great price for 35 donut holes or 8 scones. For product and store information, visit farmrich.com/bakery.
With kids heading back to school soon I know many of you will be looking for a quick way to make breakfast and snacks and these frozen Donut Holes, made with wholesome ingredients, are perfect for your busy mornings or afternoons. Just pop them in the microwave, oven or toaster oven to warm them through then roll them in cinnamon sugar.
You’ll find a packet of the cinnamon sugar in the box with the Donut Holes. To transform the Donut Holes into apples all you have to do is color the cinnamon sugar using some red food coloring. I added a bit of white sugar to the mix just to be sure my red was really vibrant, but you can skip that step if you don’t mind darker colored apples.
Then roll the warm donuts into the red sugar and add a pretzel stick stem. It’s that easy!
Turning the Donut Holes into apples only takes an extra minute or two and they make a perfect back to school breakfast or after school snack.
The Donut Hole Apples would be cute just served on a plate but if you have time, you can turn them into a super special back to school treat.
I made the printable bag toppers so that they fit across a zip top bag. Print out the page, then cut out around the tag, fold in half along the middle line and tape onto the bag.
Watch this video to see how easy these Donut Hole Apples are to create.
