These sweet Chocolate Rice Krispie Treat Reindeer Pops couldn’t be easier to make. Almost everything you need to decorate them comes in a kit.
The clock is ticking down to the big day, and I know some of you are scrambling to get treats made for your holiday parties and stocking stuffers, so today’s project is super easy and doable in about 30 minutes.
All you need to do is dip store bought Rice Krispies Treats in chocolate then decorate them using the candies in Wilton’s Reindeer Decorating Kit.
I am totally loving the new kits. I used another one to decorate my Cheesecake Snowmen. The reindeer kit includes every decorative piece you need to create a reindeer cupcake, cake, snack cake, cookie, or rice krispie treat. You can find the kits at craft stores like JoAnn’s and Michael’s and at Walmart, which is where I got mine. So, what are you waiting for, go grab a kit and get busy.
Chocolate Rice Krispie Treat Reindeer
You’ll Need:
Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats
melted and tempered milk chocolate
or melted light cocoa confectionery coating (Candy Melts)*
Wilton’s Reindeer Decorating Kit
*For detailed instructions on working with and melting chocolate or confectionery coating, see my Chocolate Making Tips page.
Instructions:
Dip one end of a lollipop stick or paper straw into the chocolate. Insert the chocolate tip into a Rice Krispies Treat. Allow that chocolate to dry.
Dip the Rice Krispies Treat into the chocolate. Remove and allow excess to drip off.
Immediately attach two candy eyes, 1 jelly bean nose, two candy antlers, and one bow to the treat. Depending on where you place the bow you can make girl or boy reindeer.
If using pure milk chocolate, refrigerate treats for about 10 minutes until the chocolate sets. If using confectionery coating, freeze treats for about 10 minutes.
Wrap the treats in clear cellophane bags, tie them with ribbon, and pass out to friends and family. You can store these in an airtight container for up to a month.
