The countdown to the New Year begins at 11:59:50 p.m. on December 31st and this year you can celebrate this special occasion by cracking open some Ball Drop Piñata Cookies.
When I was asked to create cookies that resemble the ball in Time’s Square, I panicked a bit. Have you seen how intricate that ball has become over the years? It’s current design is an icosahedral geodesic sphere made with over 2,000 triangle-shaped panels. It lights up and changes colors as it descends during the countdown. It’s an engineering marvel.
What do you think? Did I accomplish my task?
If you’d like to see just how I made these Ball Drop Piñata Cookies, you’ll need to drop in at Tablespoon.com before the clock strikes midnight, or after, or whenever you have time.
Happy New Year!
