Each apple shaped teacher’s gift is handcrafted from vanilla fudge. I’ve used this edible craft recipe several times to make Sweet Serenity Stones, Fudge Rocks, Cookies ‘n Cream Tombstones, Edible Garden Stones, and Conversation Heart Fudge. I love the versatility of this idea.
Get creative and customize your fudge apples with a teacher’s favorite quote, their name, or class information. If you prefer, you can just leave them plain, wrap them in a cellophane bag and attach a nice note. Either way, they are pretty sweet.
use either red confectionery coating and sweetened condensed milk to make the recipe
OR use white confectionery coating, sweetened condensed milk, and red food coloring
corn syrup (to use as edible glue)
small leaf cutter or a knife or kitchen shears
Use the letter embossing stamps to add phrases to your apples. Simply press the letters into the fudge creating your message. Be sure your letters are facing backwards when you look at them before you press them into the apple. Once you press them in, the imprinted letters will be facing forwards.
If you make a mistake, just smash the fudge with your hands, knead it a little bit to soften it up, then re-roll it into an apple shape and repeat.
Wrap each apple in a clear cellophane bag and tie with a ribbon to give to the teachers.
To store, place in an airtight container and leave at room temperature. These fudge apples will be fresh for several weeks.
